Section 10a.5: How is internal verification undertaken?

  • Completion of the Internal Verification plan prior to the course commencing to discuss plans for the internal verfification sample (page one of the Internal Verification Record)
  • The Internal Verifier to visit the course twice whilst the qualification is running:
    • One visit to observe the Tutor/Assessor delivering and assessing the qualification, monitoring the quality of their performance (complete the Report on Tutor/Assessor performance form - page 2 of the Internal Verification Record)
    • One visit to verify the assessment decisions made by the Tutor/Assessor for pre-stipulated tasks/units within the course (complete the Report on Tutor/Assessor performance form - page 2 of the Internal Verification Record). If the assessment decision is not being agreed then the Internal Verifier must set actions for the Tutor/Assessor, which will need to be completed and then further verification of the tasks/units must be complete
