Centre Course Manager

It is vital that you inform Sports Leaders UK if there is a change to your Centre Course Manager. The new Centre Course Manager will need to sign our Terms & Conditions in order to apply for new qualifications.

Section 8b.1: Role of the Centre Course Manager

  • Takes overall responsibility of the Centre and all staff involved in the delivery, assessment and internal verification of the qualifications.
  • Organises the administration of courses with Sports Leaders UK.
  • Acts as the point of contact and receives all correspondence including briefings for Centres, invoices and emails - sent from Sports Leaders UK.
  • Sign the relevant Sports Leaders UK Terms and Conditions, agreeing to ensure that they and all staff within the Centre abide by all requirements laid out in this document.

Section 8b.2: Who can be the Centre Course Manager?

  • Must have a sufficient level of authority within the Centre to enable them to carry out the responsibilities required by Sports Leaders UK, with full accountability for the overall provision of Sports Leaders UK qualifications and awards within the Centre
  • Must be internal to Centre
  • Must have a contract of employment of provision of services agreement with the Centre (excluding trainees, apprentices, internships)

Section 8b.3: Responsibilities

  • Ensure all courses have been applied for via the Leadership Electronic Application Portal (LEAP)
  • All learners/delegates are registered onto qualifications and awards via the LEAP
  • Inform Sports Leaders UK of any changes made to the Centre Course Manager. The new Centre Course Manager will need to sign up to the Sports Leaders UK Terms & Conditions before applying to run new courses. 
  • Make any changes to course and/or learner details via LEAP
  • Ensure that appropriate people have been identified to fulfil the role of the Tutor/Assessor, Internal Verifier and Independent Assessor and understand the responsibilities expected of these roles
  • Ensure that all invoices are paid on time
  • Ensure there is at least one currently Trained Tutor/Assessor within the Centre.
  • It is the responsibility of the Centre Course Manager to be certain that all delivery staff (Tutor/Assessors) understand delivery and assessment of Sports Leaders UK’s qualifications. To achieve this, the Centre Course Manager must ensure that the Trained Tutor/Assessor disseminates all information acquired from the Tutor Training day attended to all Tutor/Assessors and Internal Verifiers.

PLC Only: Collate all Department of Education, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) teacher number (or General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) numbers for Scottish Centres) for all delegates.

Section 8b.4: Evidence

Sports Leaders UK recommend that the Centre Course Manager creates a management file which contains all key documents relating to the qualifications being delivered within the Centre.

The Centre must retain complete course evidence for learners for minimum of three years in line with the Quality Assurance Check List.
